On July 4th, 2025, the West Point Band’s annual Independence Day celebration will take on special significance as it honors 250 years of Army heritage. Held at the iconic Trophy Point Amphitheater at West Point overlooking the majestic Hudson River, this musical performance will celebrate the roots of both our Army and our country, and the lives of the soldiers who helped shape and protect it. The evening will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display, offering a fitting tribute to this historic milestone.
This special celebration will feature stirring patriotic music, inspiring stories of service, and the premiere of “Hand in Hand,” a new song composed by Bill Sherman (Hamilton, Sesame Street) and Sam Hollander (“High Hopes,” “HandClap”). In attendance will be the new cadets of the Class of 2029, representing the future of Army leadership and the continuation of a proud tradition of service.
Experience the magic of live music, breathtaking performances, and a dazzling fireworks display, all set against the historic backdrop where our Army fought for freedom. It’s a family-friendly event that honors our nation’s heroes and promises an unforgettable experience. Admission is FREE, and all are welcome to attend.

Concessions will be available at multiple locations around Trophy Point, food options to include summer favorites:

• Ice cream, candy & snacks.
• Additionally, food trucks will be on site offering a variety of options.

• General parking available at Buffalo Soldier Field, K-Lot, Thayer Roof, Thayer Road, and Ike Hall lots.
• Handicap parking: Available in Clinton Lot, Double Day, Malik Stadium, and Clinton Place (behind Kosciuszko Monument). Must enter through Thayer Gate.
• No parking on Thayer Extension; Building 639, or at the First-Class Club parking lot.
• Cullum Road (from Quarters 101 intersection to Clinton Lot), Howard Road, and Pitcher Road will be closed from 12 noon until after the concert.
• Ruger Road (from Quarters 101 intersection to the Traffic Circle) will be one-way traffic from 12 noon until after the concert.
• Expect heavier traffic at all gates. Washington Gate will close to inbound traffic at 10 p.m., and will fully close (to include outbound traffic) at 11 p.m.
• No spot saving before 8 a.m. The U.S. Army Garrison West Point/ West Point Band/ USMA is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items, so please do not leave your areas unattended. To ensure clear access for all guests, please avoid setting up seating, blankets, or saving spaces on or overlapping walkways and sidewalks.
Safety and Security are of paramount concern. As a reminder, please do not offer food, drinks, or give any items to the cadet candidates.
