Staff Sergeant Madison Baldwin hails from Lookout Mountain in Fort Payne, Alabama. Raised in a family of rock ’n’ roll and gospel musicians, Staff Sgt. Baldwin earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Jacksonville State University. She performed leading roles in several Jacksonville Opera Theatre productions, including Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Dido in Dido and Aeneas, and Cinderella in Into the Woods.
Prior to joining the West Point Band, Staff Sgt. Baldwin spent five years as a member of the Soldiers’ Chorus of the United States Army Field Band in Washington, D.C. During her tenure, she performed in 35 states, Canada, and the United Kingdom. She appeared as a featured soloist on PBS’s Salute to Service: A Veterans Day Celebration, and performed at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Scotland, and the funeral of President Jimmy Carter.
Outside of the Army, Staff Sgt. Baldwin maintains an active performance career in sacred choral music and jazz.
